Long Service Day...

Wow what a long day in service!!!! But definitely a great one!
We started at 8:45am-noon, stopped to rest and eat and again service at 3:30-7:30....wow so much walking but man we enjoy it! Today we arrived home to eat around noon and we all sat together ate some sandwiches and started singing! Singing from the songbook! In Spanish and English! Definitely a day full of spiritual activities!
Sometimes we come home ready to pass out but we sit all together and share what happened in service!
Today in the morning we did find some deaf people but mostly families of certain deaf people in our territory. The territory we worked had many young deaf males who were at school...but we explained to families the event and the important of being there. At our Memorial we will have the talk in sign language and a speaking interpreter will be available since we will have others visiting, mainly speaking family members of the deaf.
In the evening we all split up! Some of us joined the special pioneers from our hall, others went with young sisters who are alone in the truth but provide so much encouragement, and Susie went with our neighbor Elvira to do 2 studies in Spanish.

Danny and Ariana shared with us a wonderful experience. They both joined Neftali to the poorest part of Santo Domingo, where the houses are made of metals plates and the people live by the river. Wow definitely different than what we see in Texas.
It was so cute when Ariana arrived home she was red, out of breath, and hair all crazy! Haha it was too funny we all arrived looking a lot different than when we left.

One thing I really enjoyed today was that now being here a week we are familiar with the area and within these past 2 days we have been able to arrive home on our own! Tomorrow we meet with the service group and same- we will head off on our own! Jehovah will take care of us!
We stand out easily, people know that we aren't from here and the first thing they think of is $$$MONEY$$$, so we just need to be cautious. Our elder Neftali, who serve as special pioneers him and his wife, sent us a picture/map of the area to know where To go! They put dots and details of each location! Such a sweet zealous couple! Over here we don't meet at the same place everyday during the week or weekend, we meet at 2 different halls, at a park, and other public areas since everyone walks and it also depends on the territory we assigned to work that day.
Today Karen and I took a taxi home by ourselves, and what I do is act deaf. The people here seem to have more respect and consideration to the deaf community,
So I use it To my advantage. A lot of other brothers do it as well.
People here are so interested in all of us when our in service we always here people say "they are deaf" "son sordos" and then try to communicate with us.
We then explain our purpose of knowing sign language which is to biblically teach the deaf community and the people say "wow that's good".... "Que bueno"
And then after that we take the opportunity to preach to them.

Once home we enjoyed some sweet pineapple! And for dinner rice and potatoes!
