Today was amazing!!! Service with the brothers and communication with the deaf inviting them to Memorial. Very good service day! The service group met at the park and from there we all walked to the territory around downtown! We met a brother part of the ASL congregation La Fuente, his name is Toni. We all enjoy him so much! Such a sweet brother. His story is interesting, he finished school early due to certain reasons...he stopped at 11. But he says that's fine because when he started studying at 22 with the witnesses, they gave him all the schooling/education he needs. Now he is 24...therefore within 2 years he learned the truth, got baptized, ministerial servant, worked at bethel, regular pioneer, pioneer school, and this summer pioneer school again! Oh and we have ASL assembly this weekend and he will have a part. We are so amazed. Like WOW!!!! Within 2 years all that!!! Also he explained to us that he enjoyed working in bethel but it was difficult for him to complete his pioneer hours. He would work all day Monday-Friday and service in the evening then service weekend. He decided that instead of staying at bethel he preferred to switch with a brother who wanted to be at bethel and Toni could then be on his own preaching to the deaf. He said the brother who he switched with loves Bethel and Toni love to preach so win win situation. We are just left in awe...2 years this brother has done so much and you see he a zealous brother, in service we stopped at the park for a bit as a break, once we left as we were walking towards the Main Street he gave tracts out to speaking people in the public area! Think for a second... here is a deaf brother doing his best to communicate to a speaking person and preaching to them as best as he could! Wow! I hope y'all understand why we are left in awe! Toni is the brother with the blue tie.
After service we stopped for a quick sandwich so delicious!!! At this place named Payan! And so funny Dominicans usually don't eat spicy but since they see we are Mexican they assume we eat chile!!! Haha so they offer us salsa! Haha so cute! Oh and the natural juices is amazingly good!!!!
And for transportation today we took a mini van taxi vehicle type thing haha and they call it "wawa" (I don't know if that how you spell it) and think mini van with 18 people!!! But only $.63 cents!!! Wow right!!! Haha I didn't take a pic in that but on our way back home we got on a larger bus but still cramped with twice the amount of people that bus was made for haha so small bus for us is a large one here!
