House of God-Bethel

What a beautiful day for us! We visited Jehovah's house here in the Dominican Republic! What a beautiful location!
Bethel is close to the ocean and therefore there is a lot of coral rock, when the brothers started building bethel they thought the coral rock was a problem but instead used it as beautiful outside decor! You see in the pictures the large beautiful coral rock! And the plants are beautiful! Very tropical!
Our tour guide was a sister who has been there for 20 years! Yidah and on the tour we got to bump into her twin sister! So cute right! Twin sisters at bethel! Yidah works in the cleaning department.
As we were walking through the garden a sister named Mercedes pulled some fruit from a fruit tree. The fruit is called "grosella" and it's sweet, sour and bitter! Too funny! But it was nice to try!
We also got to eat lunch there! What a privilege! Towards the end of lunch time a brother made an announcement about the upcoming Tuesday, the day of the Memorial. He encouraged the bethelites to participate in the ministry that day, he said they could leave that day but only to preach not to hang out somewhere or do something different. He continued to explain about what to do if you have a certain responsibly or task and how to handle it that day. It was really nice to be there and be part of it all!
The cafeteria holds up 140 people at one time.
We saw the mechanical department where they fix cars and outside in the parking lot we saw a vintage blue vehicle! It looks so cool! I want one!
Also we saw the laundry department and the brothers came out for a picture! The laundry building is an open air building, so you can only imagine how hot it is.
Yidah says that they do at least 250 pieces of clothing a day. It's washed, dried, and ironed!
There was also a wall with 4 large posters providing information of the DR's spiritual progress. When it started, persecution, progress, and last one was that the progress required construction- building Kingdom Halls and bethel.
The first missionaries visited April 1945.
Brother Knorr visited March 22 1946. And the bethel we visited was built 1996, it is the only bethel in DR. As we all know there have been modifications to the bethel's around the world but at this time there is no news about removing this bethel or making any major changes.
The library there carries literature from 1950 to date, to help the bethelites prepare for talks or personal studies or for whatever biblical information they need. They also have lots of encyclopedias available too.
In the literature department there was a bunch of boxes! Haha
The literature for the congregations arrive by boat, it is then organized and dropped off in large trucks. This bethel also handles Haiti's literature. They either take the literature to the border of Haiti or is taken directly to the bethel in Haiti!
Edwin our elder visited bethel with us and while in the literature department picked up what was needed for our congregation! Haha
While at bethel we bumped into some sisters who are bethelites in Canada!
It was such a beautiful day full of spiritual activities with our brothers and sisters!
I very much agree with a sister named Merecedes the one I mentioned before who said "bethel prepares you for paradise" very well said!
