This past Sunday, April 7th, was to me one of the most busiest days ever!!!! But it was a beautiful day! If I could describe it in one word I'd say "spiritual" it was a spiritual day for us!
So much activity I have to divide it Into part 1 and 2.
Part 1- in the morning we all went to service! Group meets at 8:45 at a Kingdom Hall maybe 20minutes walking distance, but if someone were to ask me "how would you describe the congregation?" I would say "very zealous!" Our congregation is a huge supporter in service! And Sunday we had a pretty big group... not everyone could fit in the room some of us had to stand outside, and since we couldn't see everything (remember in sign we don't talk, its all visual so if you cant see your not going to understand anything)...Toni who could see copied all the signs so we could understand all the information Esteban, the brother taking out the group, was presenting. Toni was looking through the window and signing everything he saw.
Well being out in service Sunday was encouraging for me. I know that at our assembly they have announced at one point or another that our circuit needs to be a better supporter for Sunday service. I know personally for me sometimes Sunday service isn't part of my schedule, definitely I can work on that. But seeing my congregation here in the DR supporting Sunday service has really touched my heart, and we had so much success too! Sometimes I think to myself "man we came because we wanted to help and support a congregation here where the need is great, but those tables turned! We are the ones who feel that are receiving the help and support! We are receiving the encouragement!" Thanks to Jehovahs the encouragement has been mutual, but the brothers here some really don't understand how different it is in the states, even me now I think "how am I going to handle going back to reality?" I feel my home is here, not Texas. Even some of the group members who have already gone back home feel the same. I think these feelings only strengthen even more our desire to come back.
Continuing on with the day, after service and sister and her family invited us to eat lunch. They attend our congregation and her and her husband are deaf. Man what a walk! From the hall to her house we had to walk an hour! Keep in mind we were really tired! These past couple days have been non stop going out in service and being with brothers, plus we are only sleeping like 4-5 hours a night. So Sunday after walking all day in service and then an additional hour did make us tired! But thanks to Jehovah we arrived and became full of energy again!
Once we arrived the sister had everything ready! Omg what delicious food!!! Rice, salad, and chicken! All homemade! Yum!!! It was funny because again we were tired and since the sister and husband are deaf our only communication is signing, my arms were so tired! And we couldn't even think anymore haha. But the brother started giving us details of their circumstances and what they have been through. And once that started happening Jehovahs holy spirit came because we went from tired to full of energy in an instant! Thanks to Jehovah we were able to encourage the brother on certain things and discuss things he can do to get better. And I mean Jehovahs spirit was there because I'm not fluent in sign but in that conversation everything started coming naturally and smooth. Just like the Bible says that Jehovah puts the words we need to say in our mouth, well Jehovah does the same with our hands! We really enjoyed the time with them! They are so nice and lovely! They already made plans with us to come back and talk more, we would have stayed longer but we all had to get ready for the meeting at 4. We left their house at around 2:30, and man were we rushed! We took the train home but the train was having some issues so we had to wait, what would usually take us 15 min took us 30 minutes to get home!!!! We got home at 3!! We were in a super rush to get ready!!! Thanks to Jehovah we left on time and made the meeting on time! Ok time for Sunday Part 2!

3 down!
3 weeks down! 3 less in the group!
Half our group is gone! Diane, Susie, and Daniel left DR! But definitely we spent a wonderful 3 weeks with them! They are surely missed! Thanks to Jehovah they arrived home safely!
But they didn't leave without having a big party first! Haha
The Llano family again invited us to their home for karaoke, dancing, dinner, and all around good time! What a night so many laughs! We all sang! English and Spanish! Ariana even signed some of the songs! And dancing was so much fun! No one left sitting down everyone got up and danced! Again Dominicans love to dance!!!
We definitely have come to really bond with the Llano family! We appreciate their hospitality and love!
For dessert they gave us "Chaca" -sorry I don't know If that how you spell it but its like arroz con leche! Really good! But instead of rice it has maiz.

Salto de Jimenoa
Our last day in Jarabacoa was Sunday March 31, but we had an opportunity to visit a natural waterfall in the area, known as Salto de Jimenoa! Sorry I would have posted this since last week but we currently don't have wifi at the house, so I have to go somewhere to have access. Many have asked if the blog will continue and it will, any opportunity I have for wifi there will be a post! So please keep checking!
Ok so Salto de Jimenoa....
It's not the biggest waterfall, but it was really nice to hear the water beating against the rocks and mediating on Jehovahs creation!
The river is so pretty! There was even 2 women swimming in it! The building you see is a filtration system just to help keep the river clean.
To all y'all who know me you know I'm afraid of heights! And to get to the waterfall you have to walk on several bridges, these bridges are made of wire and wood! Oh and aren't very sturdy! It was a little scary but nice! Took it like a champ! But some boards were loose! Haha I didn't play while on the bridge!
But of course I was yelling! Haha
Really relaxing to walk the mountain, see the water, and enjoy the natural scenery!
Made me think of the video "Jehovah's creation" (sorry I may have forgotten the correct name) but the video that came out 2 years ago I think about Jehovahs creation and its a father talking with his son. This scenery reminded me of all that Jehovah has created for us. So many pretty flowers, plants, animals, waterfalls, and human beings. Definitely mediating on all this increases our appreciation for Jehovah and all he has done for us. Definitely recommend all families to go outside and appreciate the natural beauty Jehovah put around us, a Kingdom Ministry recommended to do that for family study on at least one occasion. Hope everyone back home is doing great! Much love to all!
