So we are visiting another town here in the DR, San Juan de la Maguana!
Thanks to Jehovahs beautiful organization, at the circuit assembly we met a couple who live in this town and invited us. This couple is originally from California but visited DR last year and love it! Since January of this year they have officially moved and live here permanently, Gary and Windee.
Well we arrived Friday morning and spent some time with them at their home. Their experience is really cool, because when they made the decision to officially move to DR, they let everyone know and announced the following "we are moving, our house is open to anyone to come and get anything and everything you want we only ask you provide a donation"...well the amount they got from that was enough money to live here a year! Wow you can definitely see Jehovahs blessing!
Well after arriving Friday we spent time with them at home ate and then what a surprise...they didn't tell us but they had arranged for their deaf bible student to come to the house so we could meet him and participate in the study.
His name is Jannel, he is 12 and just like many deaf he is learning sign language but at the same time studying the bible.
Gary and Windee here in their house on the wall have like a clear dry erase board to be able to draw to help the deaf bible studies understand through pictures.
After the study we went to different stores to grab some things we need but got to see the town at night, so pretty!
Oh also Gary and Windee have a pet pig! So cute it's name is Pig'O!!! Only 4 months old.
On our way home we got to stop at a bakery and get some Dominican sweets! A little different but still good!
Gary is actually half Mexican and half Jamaican! So once we got back home he made us some spicy salsa/pick de gallo OMG so good!!! Dominicans don't eat spicy so I missed it a bit! Also we had bought cheese that you can fry! So delicious! Last time I had that I was in Mexico!
