I can't emphasize enough how close we have gotten with all the members of the congregation, especially the deaf brothers and sisters. This past weekend we were in San Juan and returned Monday. Prior to leaving for the weekend we planned to have brothers and sisters over at our house Monday. We promised to make a Mexican meal to share with them our food. We made chilaquiles.
Wow so many came!!! Jordi, the brother who owns the apartment said "I've never had this many people over all at one time!" It was so much fun as Karen and I were preparing the food they were all saying "that's weird, I've never seen that before" but I wish you could have seen their faces because when they tried it they loved it! We had to make 2 batches because everyone wanted more!
Chilaquiles- fried tortilla, cheese, chicken, egg and of course sauce, but not spicy since Dominicans don't eat spicy!
We had so much fun, we had dessert too but had bought 2 cakes and of course had coffee. Man all the food was gone quick! After eating we played sign games and had so many laughs!
It was nice to have everyone visit and come over! Even our witness neighbors came by too to join the fun! It was so beautiful because most of our friends are deaf, and our neighbors don't know sign language but they do their best to communicate! Awe we all enjoyed it!
We were so tired at the end of the night but so happy to have shared all that time together! Love Jehovah's organization!!!
